KILLING R

KILLING R-SHORTFILM 15 min
In a not-so-distant future where AI technology is part of everyday life, Rebecka (41), a successful architect and mother to Nonno (5), works from home with her sick daughter while her partner Carl (39) is away.Rebecka needs assistance to focus on an important deadline and receives help from her AI clone, R. However, R not only provides support but also constantly criticizes Rebecka, reminding her of her limitations as both a mother and an architect, which creates feelings of insecurity and guilt within her.
The increased pressure from R, coupled with Rebecka's ambition to excel both at work and at home, leads Rebecka to fantasize about different ways to get rid of the clone, but getting rid of a version of herself proves to be not a simple task.

Killing R Update!
- Lindholmen Science Park funds Killing R in development!
Killing R has received development funding from Lindholmen Science Park to test a scene using deepfake technology and take the project to the next level!
Jury statement:"The reference group considers the project an exciting addition to Gothenburg's film ecosystem, with the potential to contribute to the development of new production environments and processes. At the same time, it is seen as a way to strengthen local expertise in virtual production and AI."
We're beyond proud and excited — and especially excited to welcome two new stars to the team: Josef Skir and Daniel Lägersten at Götafilm, who are now on board as THE producers! The film is written and directed by me and it suddenly feels like the dream of Killing R as a feature film is one big step closer.Forward — into the future — with clones, thriller, identity crises, and a good dose of absurdity. Can't wait to share this film with you all!

Killing R @ WATERSPRITE FILMFESTIVAL
Over 2000 films applied and Killing R was shortlisted!
This gave me the great opportunity to apply to the mentorship program. Me and three other filmmakers were selected. We were able to travel to Cambridge in England to participate in this amazing film festival. Meetings with great artists such as production designer Kave Quinn, BAFTA awarded producer Helen Simmons and more.
After the festival I will be assigned a mentor that will be my voice of reason for a whole year!! Pushing me and Killing R into an international market and sphere. I'll keep you posted!
The dream just got closer!
Great thanks to the grant from KONSTNÄRSNÄMNDEN for financing part of this trip and supporting my development as a filmmaker.

Killing R @ TRIESTE SCI-FI FILMFESTIVAL- What a great festival!
Konstnärsnämndens grant made it possible for me to go to Trieste Sci-fi Filmfestival. A great festival with great people, great food and the theatre salong at Rosetti is to die for. I learned that the absence of female directors within genre and sci-fi is huge. Also that many films often focus on effects rather than story and human connections.. Don't worry! I will change all that in my next film! AND- Hope to come back to Trieste with the feature film based on KILLING R in the future. Also.. In the future visit, I will stay a bit longer cause Italy has so much to offer.

Lunds fantastic Filmfestival
Killing R with Q&A at the fantastic filmfestival in Lund. Very nice films and so happy to show my film in my own home town.

The Q&A that followed the screening in Lund.

The Wildsound festival interviewed me about the short-Killing R and about the upcoming feature film KILLING R!
